This smoothie is also naturally sweetened with banana, and loaded with flavour from the cinnamon and pumpkin pie spice. It’s the absolutely best recipe to make at the beginning of fall when the weather is still warm, but you want to enjoy all of the flavours of fall.

Ingredients you will need to make this pumpkin pie smoothie and any substitutions

  • Banana. This adds creaminess and naturally sweetens the smoothie.
  • Cinnamon + Pumpkin Pie Spice. To add all of the fall flavours to this smoothie!
  • Protein Powder. I love adding protein powder to make this a more filling drink, especially if you are eating it as a meal or as a snack.
  • Pure Pumpkin Purée. I used E.D.SMITH Pure Pumpkin Purée which is my favourite to use in recipes. It has one simple ingredient and allows you to eat your veggies in smoothie form!
  • Oat Milk. You can use any type of milk of your choice.
  • Natural Peanut Butter. I actually used a sea salt peanut butter in this recipe, and it was so good! It gave the smoothie a sweet and salty flavour, and I was obsessed! You can use any type of nut or seed butter of choice.

Tips on making this healthy high protein pumpkin smoothie

  • Blend your smoothie twice. You read that right! Add all the ingredients to your blender, and blend on medium-high speed. There will normally be ingredients on the side of the blender, so ensure to
  • scrape down the sides, and pulse once more for another 30 seconds to ensure the smoothie is creamy, smooth, and ready to pour!
  • Use fresh ingredients. If you want this smoothie to be really creamy, make sure to use a fresh banana so that it blends smoothly with all the other ingredients.

Can I store this healthypumpkin spice smoothie?

This pumpkin pie smoothie is best enjoyed immediately, however you can store it in the fridge for a few hours if you plan on drinking it a bit later in the day.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 small banana, peeled
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 scoop protein powder flavour of choice, I used vanilla (about 5 tbsp or 36g scoop)
  • 1/3 cup E.D.SMITH Pure Pumpkin Purée
  • 1 1/4 cup oat milk or milk of choice
  • 1 tbsp natural peanut butter

Instructions
 

  • To a blender, combine all ingredients until smooth and no chunks remain.
  • Pour smoothie into a glass.
  • Option to top with whipped cream, granola, or any other toppings of your choice.
