These banana snickers bites will be your new favourite snack! They are a quick no bake snack you can whip up and keep in the freezer whenever you need something to hold you over between meals. They are great to have as a snack because they’re packed with protein powder! Plus, the combination of bananas, nuts, and chocolate is probably one of the most delicious food combinations ever.
Ingredients needed to make these high protein banana snickers bites
- Bananas. You want to make sure the bananas are ripe, but not overly ripe since you need to cut them in half, then cut again lengthwise.
- Protein Powder. This will be used to make the peanut butter filling. I love using Good Protein Creamy Vanilla protein powder because it adds a delicious, subtle vanilla flavour. It compliments the peanut butter, chocolate, and banana flavour so well and has 21g of plant protein per serving! You can save 30% off your first order by using my code RIRI30 at checkout!
- Peanut Butter. I like using a creamy peanut butter for this recipe, since it helps to blend well with the protein powder and other ingredients.
- Maple Syrup. Adding some sweetener helps to create a sweet and salty flavour which tastes so incredible!
- Cashews. You can use any type of nut of your choice (almonds, walnuts, pistachios, etc)
- Melted Chocolate. Just melt up some chocolate chips or a chocolate bar with some coconut oil in the microwave so it melts nicely.
Tips on making these banana snickers bites
- Use a mini spatula to mix your peanut butter filling. It’s normal it will be creamy and slightly thick. Using a spatula will allow you to properly incorporate all ingredients, and also spread the mixture onto your banana slice.
- Ensure to press the crushed nuts into your peanut butter filling. If you decide to include the crushed cashews in this recipe, make sure to press them into the peanut butter mixture so it does not fall out when you place them in the freezer to set.
- Add some flaky sea salt on top before enjoying. Totally optional, but the salt really brings out the sweetness from the banana and chocolate!
Can I use the peanut butter protein filling with anything else?
Yes! It would actually make a delicious spread with apples, or even on toast! You can also top a smoothie or smoothie bowl with this and it will be so delicious!
How to store these banana snickers bites
Store your snickers bites in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 5-7 days. Since you are freezing fresh banana slices, it’s best to eat them within a week of making this snack.
