This summer fruit board is such a fun way to have some snacks while enjoying the outdoors. Whether you have a pool party, summer bbq or just enjoying the weekend in the sun, this is such a fun way to serve a variety of options to your guests.
I partnered with E.D.SMITH to make this fun “charcuterie” fruit board to inspire you to create one of your own this summer! It’s so easily customizable and great for adding a bunch of different options to snack on.
Ingredients you’ll need for this summer fruit board
- E.D.SMITH Pie filling. I used cherry, blueberry and raspberry. I mixed the raspberry pie filling with some yogurt to make a fruit dip that pairs nicely with the crackers and fruit on the board! For the other fillings, I just placed them separately in ramekins.
- Graham Crackers. This was a fun, summery addition to add to the board! You can always add any other crackers of your choice for this.
- Kiwis. You can use the green or yellow kiwis, and I love cutting them in this shape to add some texture to the board, and it’s a great way to fill any gaps in your board.
- Cherries. Probably one of my favourite summer fruits, these were a must-add to my board!
- Strawberries. You can add them whole or cut them into circles, like I did here. I find cutting up the fruit rather than leaving them whole adds shape to the board and is easier to place them in empty spaces.
- Mango. Another amazing summer fruit, I love cutting them up in small squares and folding each mango half open to place them on the board. It makes it looks so beautiful and professional!
- Marshmallows. A summer board must-have! I placed them on wooden skewers so it’s easier to eat and dip them.
Tips on making this summer “charcuterie” board
- Place down your bowls first. Place the pie filling in small ramekins on the board first. They take up the most space and it’s important to space them out so that they are evenly distributed on the board. I placed mine on the far end, making a triangular shape so it balances out the board.
- Make your food flow. After I place my bowls, I traced the outline with the graham crackers. I make them flow into a curved line around my ramekin. This helps to give direction and guidance, and also helps you mentally divide your board so you can visualize what to place down next.
- Don’t be afraid to fill up your board! I placed a stack of cherries in the middle and also stacked the marshmallow skewers. This helps to make your board look full. No one wants a board with gaps, so be sure to fill any little spaces as much as you can! My pro tip is to add some extra nuts or fruits, like kiwis, in the nooks and crannies of your board so it looks beautiful and full!
Can I store this summer “charcuterie” fruit board?
If you will be assembling this board in the morning and serving it later in the evening, I would suggest storing it in the fridge and covering it. This board does not take too long to assemble, so you can cut and prep all your ingredients, then make it 20-30 minutes before serving.
If you’d like to save whatever is left from your fruit board, you can place the leftover items in a container.
